The Mazda3 is a premium compact car, offered in both sedan and hatchback body styles. It's exciting to drive, features a striking appearance, and is equipped with unexpected luxury and technology features not typically found in its class.

The Mazda3 is offered in three trim levels: Sport, Touring and Grand Touring. The two powertrain choices are a 155-hp 2.0-liter direct injection SKYACTIV four-cylinder engine, or a 184-hp 2.5-liter direct injection SKYACTIV four-cylinder engine; both are offered with either a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic with sport mode. Trim-dependent standard equipment includes: a power moonroof, 18-inch aluminum wheels, passive entry/start, heated front seats, leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, HD/satellite radio, Bluetooth wireless phone/audio streaming and a 7-inch color touchscreen display. Standard safety features include four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes with brake assist, electronic stability and traction control, and forward collision mitigation, as well as six airbags. Enhanced technologies, such as lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring, radar cruise control and traffic sign recognition, are also available.

Following a refresh last year, the Mazda3 carries over with minimal changes for 2018. Most notably, Smart City Brake Support is now standard on all models, while the Grand Touring gets distinctive new auto-levelling LED headlights and LED daytime running lights.
