Model Overview
The Mercedes-Benz C-Class remains the most accessible of the brand's models sold in the United States, delivering the expected levels of advanced engineering, design and safety features that keep it highly competitive within the entry luxury segment. It is offered as a 5-passenger Sedan, as well as in 4-passenger Coupe and Cabriolet body styles.
The C-Class is available in both rear- and all-wheel drive configurations. The C300 is powered by a 241-hp 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, while the AMG C43 gets a 362-hp 3.0-liter bi-turbo V6. The enthusiast-oriented AMG C63 boasts a hand-built 469-hp 6.3-liter AMG-tuned V8 engine (503-hp in 'S' variant). Transmissions include a seven-speed automatic transmission with manual shift mode and a new nine-speed automatic; paddle shifters are available. Model-dependent standard equipment includes: panoramic sunroof, LED headlamps, 18-inch aluminum wheels, heated front seats, leather upholstery, dual-zone climate control, push-button start, HD/satellite radio, USB port and an 8-inch color LCD display, along with Bluetooth wireless connectivity/audio streaming and smartphone integration. C-Class safety features include 4-wheel anti-lock disc brakes with brake assist, stability/traction control systems, a rearview camera and nine airbags, along with Mercedes' ATTENTION ASSIST drowsiness detection, Collision Prevention Assist PLUS and PRE-SAFE occupant protection systems.
The Mercedes-Benz C-Class gets several changes for 2017. The next-generation Coupe returns for this model year with expressive new styling and an upgraded interior, while a new AMG C43 model replaces the C450 AMG, and a Cabriolet body style debuts.
